Transition New Mills

Reimagining and rebuilding our community, to create a resilient, sustainable and ethical future for New Mills amid a changing climate.

We are on the brink of climate disaster, a global emergency beyond any doubt. Much of the fabric of life on Earth is in danger as we step into a critical and unpredictable new phase of the climate crisis.

We need to start building climate infrastructure now - things that help protect future generations from the worst of what will come. We need community energy projects, repair cafes, climate hubs, community energy projects, peoples assemblies, climate cafes, community food projects, sustainable travel, and more. And this infrastructure needs to be built with creativity, imagination and care. This is how we begin the process of protecting future generations from the worst of what will come.

This is what we're working on as Transition New Mills. And we invite you to join us.

The Transition movement was started in the small town of Totnes, Devon in 2006. The ethos behind the network is to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and help protect the planet. From that small start in Totnes, the network has grown and can be found in thousands of cities, towns, villages, universities and schools, in over 48 countries.

The movement relies on people being willing to get involved and help. Each group organises different projects and events.  Without volunteers, the movement could not exist. Transition is now a movement of communities coming together to re-imagine and re-build our world.
